Five Votes and a "Right of Way": The Road Remains Ours
This is the world you already live in and drive past every day. The truckers and the truck stops on the highway. The poles and the wires around your house. The right-of-way is the backdrop of your life, and you do not see it — until it is transformed into something you cannot unsee.
Outline
Remember when you would be driving on the highway and you see one of those bigger truck stops with the big restaurant, bar, and overnight parking for the truckers? You just knew this was a place full of heritage American, patriotic men. Proud independent owners of their rig. Trucking wasn’t just a job or a “gig” - it was their craft. It was well known that if a woman alone on the road had a breakdown and a trucker stopped - this was a guy you could trust. I once stopped at that restaurant and it was a buffet of all the foods heritage American men actually want to eat.
No surprise, the globalist counter-culture had to find a way to bust that up; to debase it and strip it of heritage American culture. What follows is a map of the trap itself: how the "Trucking Trap" was built, why it holds, and what it costs you to keep choosing inside it.
🔧 The Mechanism
The current alarm is justified: we are seeing "third-world driving" habits on American interstates—rigs pulling illegal U-turns, operators who cannot read road signs, and a catastrophic rise in accidents. But the outcry is the first part of the trap.
We see the danger, we scream for "safety standards," and the Administrative State answers with a smile. They draft new regulations, new compliance mandates, and new barriers to entry. Who does that hurt? It doesn’t hurt the mega-carriers like Knight-Swift or Schneider; they have armies of attorneys to handle the paperwork. It hurts the independent, heritage American owner-operator who is priced out by the very "safety" rules we begged for. The accidents are not an oversight; they are the manufactured crisis used to justify the regulatory apparatus that kills the independent middle layer.
🎯 Their Objective
Ask the straight question: if the regulatory state and the corporate giants are mortal enemies, why does the power of both keep growing in lockstep?
The "safety" outcry is a psy-op. Its objective is not to make the roads safer—it is to finalize the centralization of logistics. By using the panic over incompetence as a lever, the state and the mega-carriers collaborate to raise the "cost of doing business" until the only players left standing are the massive, stateless corporations. They want a predictable, automated, compliant supply chain. They want you focused on the symptom (the bad driver) so you never notice the system (the total replacement of the independent worker with a compliant, visa-tied workforce). The regulatory state and the megacorporation function as a marriage, and the oscillation between "safety mandates" and "corporate efficiency" is how the marriage stays fertile.
💸 The Cost to You
This is not just an economic loss; it is the destruction of the Vocation. Martin Luther once said that God milks the cows through the vocation of the milkmaid. He called this the larva Dei — the "Mask of God": God Himself hidden in the hands of ordinary men doing ordinary work.
When a man drives a rig to deliver food or medicine, he is not a "unit of production" for a Wall Street balance sheet; he is an instrument of God’s provision, driving with the weight of responsibility for his neighbor.
But the cost is not limited to the spirit; it strikes at the very heart of our sovereign survival. This is a profound national security failure. Consider what is moving through those gears: our medicine, our food, our building supplies, and our critical technology. When the system replaces the independent, heritage-minded driver—a man who drives for his family and his nation—with a transient, stateless workforce, it creates a supply chain with no soul and no stake in our future. By populating our logistics with such a workforce, we have created a honey pot for foreign influence—a vulnerability that our enemies can easily exploit. We have outsourced the nervous system of our nation to a workforce that answers only to a visa or a corporate algorithm, not to the heritage or posterity of this land.
The globalist machine treats the trucker as a disposable resource precisely because they want to strip away the divine dignity of the job. By turning a "holy vocation" into a soulless "gig," they make the supply chain fragile and easily manipulated. They are demanding we serve the supply chain rather than love our neighbor, and in doing so, they have left our critical infrastructure naked before those who despise us. We are not just losing jobs; we are losing the very men who hold the nation together.
⚡ Exercise Your Free Will
You do not have to beg the Pharaoh for "straw." You do not have to choose between chaotic, unsafe roads and the bureaucratic prison of state regulation. That binary is a trap.
Outside the binary. With men of conviction. No pretense, no surrender.
“When an outrage is committed, do you ask what is righteous under God’s law, or do you ask what the market allows and what the state permits?”
That is the diagnostic. It cuts straight through the theater. You are not called to manage the oscillation between corporate greed and state tyranny. You are called to step out of it:
Refuse to beg for regulations. Every new mandate is a nail in the coffin of the independent owner-operator. Demand the restoration of personal accountability and the right to work with honor.
Rebuild the middle layer. Trade with men whose word is bound by the fear of God. Protect your household’s independence. Do not allow your craft to be treated as a "unit." A man who drives with excellence and answers to his Creator is a threat to the globalist machine.
The Sovereign Reality
If Martin Luther were to speak to the modern American trucker, he would tell him this: Your work is your pulpit. Luther taught that God calls a man to his station right where he is. Driving that truck safely, honestly, and with integrity is a work as holy before God as any hymn sung in a church. This is the Beruf—the calling.
The mega-carrier seeks to replace you with a "stateless" man—one who has no stake in the land, no heritage in the soil, and no fear of God in his heart. They want him because he is a slave to his visa, a slave to his boss, and a slave to the machine. But you? You are a steward of your craft. You are a neighbor. You are an instrument of God’s provision.
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15
Do not look to the State to restore your "safety." They do not want you safe; they want you managed. Instead, reclaim your station. Be the independent, sovereign man God created you to be. As for me and my house, we do not build with strawless bricks for Pharaoh. We serve the King of Kings.
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.” — 1 John 5:21
A Prayer for the Living
Lord God of Hosts, we confess that we have looked to the mechanisms of men for the salvation that belongs to You alone. We have allowed the worship of the ledger and the worship of the state to divide our loyalties, excusing evil in the name of market necessity or public safety. Forgive us for the years spent arguing over taskmasters while neglecting the righteous stewardship of our own homes, trades, and congregations. Deliver us from the fear of man and the love of worldly security. Establish the work of our hands, and remind us daily that Christ alone is King. Amen.
A Briefing for the Household
Do not leave this truth on the screen. This week, gather your household and examine these foundations together:
1 Corinthians 7:20: “Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called.” Teach your children that their work is not a commodity, but a divine calling. How do we ensure our labor serves Christ rather than the ledger or the state?
1 Timothy 5:8: “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith.” Defending your trade is defending your family’s holiness. Teach your children that a job is a sacred duty to provide, not just a "gig."
Acts 5:29: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” When corporate or state powers demand that which violates the Law of God, the Christian’s allegiance is already settled. Teach your children where the jurisdiction of man ends and where the sovereign claim of God is absolute.
Remind your household: The system offers a choice between two forms of bondage — the idolatry of capital and the idolatry of Caesar. Our inheritance is found in neither. We serve the Living God, whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light.
🏛️ Your Local Power
Here is a story about Rawlins, Wyoming, pop. ~8,000 - an ordinary town.
Right of Way?
What does "right-of-way" mean? It is the strip of land along every road in your town — the shoulder, the ditch, the utility corridor. It is public ground. You and every taxpayer in town own it. What they do not tell you is how cheaply and how quietly it gets handed over — and how little the word "public" buys you.
Rawlins, Wyoming — population 8,000, about as ordinary as an American town gets — ran this exact process all year, in public, in the manner governments use when they want something noticed but not seen.
On February 17, 2026, the Rawlins City Council held a public hearing on a resolution adding a right-of-way permit fee for subsurface work done by franchise holders in the public right-of-way — the city's own charge for letting utilities dig in ground the public owns. The same meeting was set to take the third and final readings of utility franchise ordinances for Visionary Communications and All West/Wyoming Inc. — and tabled them instead, to coordinate with the new fee and permitting process. The fee came first; the access was priced before it was sold.
Then the CenturyLink franchise: first reading and public hearing May 19, 2026; second reading June 2; third and final reading June 16 — a twenty-year, non-exclusive telecommunications franchise to construct, maintain, and operate in the public right-of-way. Three readings across a month, every one of it lawful. Nobody broke a rule. That is the point. The machinery worked exactly as designed.
And here is what the sequence produced. By late July, Rawlins residents were calling the police about fiber contractors from Visionary and All West working on and near their property — trespassing, as they saw it, on yards they thought were theirs. On July 22, 2026, the city posted an explainer on its own website: "What is a Public Right-of-Way?" — because, it said, "we have been getting a lot of questions recently." So there it is: the public found out what a right-of-way is when a contractor showed up in their yard, and the city explained the ground only after the ground was committed. Not a conspiracy. Just a sequence — and a predictable one.
Fake Notice
And when does the public actually get to weigh in? Take the council's September 15, 2026 meeting: rezoning the Lawrence property, a $79,200 change order, two federal airport grants. The agenda went up Monday, September 14. Suppose you cared. Suppose you both work and you have two kids. You found out Monday night, at best, and the decision came down Tuesday at six. No time to organize, no time to even talk it over at the kitchen table. That is "notice" in name only — the same result as secrecy, delivered lawfully. Complying with the statute and governing in the dark are not opposites. The timeline itself is the finding.
What's This Got To do With Truckers?
This is the world you already live in and drive past every day. The truckers and the truck stops on the highway. The poles and the wires around your house. The right-of-way is the backdrop of your life, and you do not see it — until it is transformed into something you cannot unsee. Every inch of it was decided somewhere, on a "Tuesday", by "five" votes. That strip of ground is an inheritance — "remove not the ancient landmark" — and it was disposed of between the consent agenda and the adjournment. If that happened in Rawlins, it has happened, or will, where you live. Pull your town's agenda. Find the item. Show up and say one sentence on the record, or just show up to learn how it works, or tell someone else about it.
Your Rights?
And you know who doesn't have right-of-way? You. Go ahead — plant a sign in that same strip of dirt saying you don't like it. See how fast the city that granted them the ground picks up your sign. (Yes you can put the sign on your own property, but that's not the point.)
